Nature Rescue
Clean-up event: You need to know

Tools you need to know
  • Small shovels, large shears: for handling "ghost nets" and other types of special rubbish

  • Long tongs: for picking up debris in between rocks and in grassy areas

  • Dustpans: for sifting out foam and trash fragments from sand piles

  • Work gloves: essential! Remember to clean them after the activity for reuse!

Rubbish handling you need to know
  • Garbage should be sorted and recycled as much as possible

  • If there is an unknown liquid inside a container, for hygiene and safety reasons, do not pour out the liquid, and the container should not be recycled either

  • If the rubbish is too dirty or contains too much sand and debris, even if it is recyclable, it should be treated as general waste. Recycle this type of rubbish will only pollute all the recyclables, which is not worth it!

  • Recyclables can be taken to the "GREEN@COMMUNITY"; general waste can be disposed of at nearby Refuse Collection Points

  • Make sure to wrap the rubbish properly before disposing of it to prevent accidental spillage or blowing away.

Clothing essentials you need to know
  • Long-sleeved shirts and pants or arm sleeves: to reduce the risk of scratches from prickly plants on the coast and in the countryside

  • Closed-toe sports shoes: to protect against injuries from broken glass and sharp debris on the coast and in the countryside

  • Hat: for sun protection.

  • Towel: to replace tissue for wiping sweat

Tides you need to know
  • When cleaning the coast, remember to check the tide schedule.

"Leave No Trace" you need to know

  • Pack out your own trash.
